I’m sure there’s a logical explanation as to why this charming little girl in a pink dress is wearing boxing gloves, but I can’t for the life of me imagine what it is. (Maybe she’s the love-child of Mike Tyson and Glinda the Good Witch?) I found this ceramic figurine (which has “Made in Japan” stamped on the inside of her hollow skirt) at a garage sale yesterday and for a dollar, it was the find of the day.

Damn! I was hoping you’d say– oh yeah, I have one of these. It’s from 196- and it was made by… yadda, yadda, yadda. You seem to have first hand experience with about 99% of what’s out there, kitsch-wise. So I could barely wait to post this because there MUST be some story behind it and I was sure you’d know what it was. I’m sure if you ever find out, you’ll let me know.
In any case, in answer to your question, she stands about 3 1/2″ tall.
