Not at all my style in art but I love a restaurant with a good theme and in the sports department this certainly is original. The paintings all over the place kill me. Do they literally cover every wall?
I love the two women wondering if the guy is wealthy. Do they mean the baseball player? In those days unless it was Babe Ruth the answer was probably no. But maybe they’re looking at some guy who’s eating the Home Plate Special, a 2 pound burger with all the fixin’s, 2 malts and a hot fudge sundae.
Is that a baseball cap sitting on the top of this C on the restaurant sign? When I first looked at it I thought it was a fist although the position on the wrist was bizarre and then I thought it was a set of teeth with something shooting out of the mouth. I also love that the baseball mit on the sign looks more like an open clamshell. I have a feeling that a different person painted the sign than the art inside.

That’s a baseball cap and these paintings are all over the inside of the joint! Not my thing either and I actually loathe and despise sports on any level. just not my thing but then again, the work men sitting at the bar would most likely not be admirers of kitsch either.
