These Sci-Fi paperbacks were published between 1956-1959. The covers pretty much say it all, but wanted to add that “The Wife Factory” looks like it might’ve inspired Ira Levin’s THE STEPFORD WIVES.
Beautiful books once again! The colors and graphics are always so gorgeous on these. I love especially in the that the women are mostly taking on all male roles other than that chick terrified of the giant lobster and the two Stepford Wives in The Wife Factory. I love Miss Universe terrifying the aliens as well as the two chicks fighting on top of the giant diamond. I hope they aren’t going to all that trouble for a man.
Allee– you’ve touched on one of the reasons people like us love kitsch so much– unlike more tasteful art forms, kitschy things in their innocence are sometimes actually better able to explore significant issues (like sexism, racism, Art, etc.) and pose provocative questions about our culture. Yes, kitsch is a lot of fun, but there’s often something substantive there as well.
TOTALLY AGREE! Kitsch says tons about the culture it’s created within.

hell YES! Kitsch makes us better people and gives voice to important issues without ever being pretentious! i couldn’t survive in a world without kitsch! And, ok, and kitsch, as a whole, is also just funny and wonderful, no philosophies involved….which is such a nice cozy place to be too….

Thanks, windupkitty. Is there any way I can check out your artwork online?
