Who doesn’t like a string holder? I don’t usually need string, but I may as well have something to keep it in. Also has a convenient slot for the scissors, though they probably aren’t sharp enough to cut the string. This came from a flea market. The guy had a half a dozen other ceramic cat-themed kitchen tchotchkes and insisted I take them all. I’ll post those too sometime.

I love string holders. They rose to popularity in the 1930s when they were used in bakeries to pull string from to wrap boxes. That’s why so many of them are chefs like this one I posted on my Kitsch O’ The Day blog: https://www.alleewillis.com/blog/2009/11/12/allee-willis-kitsch-o-the-day-vintage-chef-string-holder/
Your’s is great. Looks more like it was made for a person who sews or does crafts. It’s what they make that I really want to see!
