Here’s some kitsch just in time for Superbowl XLIV. I will admit I have very little knowledge of it. First of all, I can’t tell you what team he represents. Worse, I’m not sure what to call this craft– it’s between cross stitch and latchhook. In fact I got worked up thinking how great this would be as a fuzzy latchhook rug sandwiched between greenish-glass in an off-size frame that I put him back. He was still around when I showed up a week later, but before I made my way out of the figurines another lady picked him up. I dream that she’s an Akischionado, or buying it for a husband, brother or lover that can fully appreciate it.

Oooops! I totally messed up and should have had this up yesterday for the Super Bowl but was thankfully slogging through about 100 submissions to the Museum and somehow missed this. I didn’t mess up as much as Peyton Manning however and at least can put it up for the world to see now.
Other than knowing that someone was a very devoted craftsperson cross stitching or latch hooking or crocheting or macrameing or knitting or whatever got the stitches to hang together as a football player I don’t know anything more than you re what to call this craft other than a nice job done by someone who loves football or loves someone who loves football.
