Small town girls
dream of platinum curls
and bowling pins that watch tv.
made from a wooden base from thrift store that someone drew this wonderful picture of a small town. the small town girl is styroform roundness. 1950’s . legs f rom various sources, and tv is a plastic toy that you look in the back nd flip pictures. and the bowling pin was from toy bowling set.

It’s KILLING me that the bowling pin is watching TV.
The handwritten label with the little cut out edges also thrills me. This is always such a nice, elegant touch.
Is the scene on the wood slab hand painted or does it have a hand tinted photo emblazoned on top of it?
And what does the little lass spend her coins on?
denny
I need to have this.

Hi denny. Thank you. thats the nicest thing anyone could say..
allee..it looks painted to me..and she spends her coins on nail polish from the five and dime.
Allee Willis
OOoh, I can smell that nail polish right now.

oh, this is beautiful, monica! is that one of those tvs with a hole in the back where you can look through it and see scenes, kind of like a viewmaster? what is the bowling pin watching?
monica johnson
i love that you knew it was a viewer tv and considering the town is so small, im thinking he is waiting for the indian sign off screen.
