“Practice at home today…a better paying job tomorrow” Wow! You bet she has a better paying job! Why she’s practically CEO! You know what else helps you get a better paying job? Never, ever, changing your clothes!
This is a great record and it comes with a booklet that has templates of the letters that are dictated. If you’re going to make it to the top, you have to check your work! My favorite thing about the back cover is the last album advertisement. “Sound Spelling”: first you don’t get it, then you do!

I have a different volume of the Steno-Booster LP series. I think the one I have was the first one ever released judging by the hairdo that looks like a row of brownies glued onto a bathing cap.
The gal on this cover looks so confident about her steno skills and her boss looks happy too. But why is his pencil poised if she’s doing such a great job of taking notes?
I love how casually the stenographer practices at home with her early 60’s 16/33-1/3/45 player blasting Bobby Vinton or whoever made her so relaxed as to take notes with her shoes soiling the sofa.
If all it takes to get “a better paying job tomorrow” is looking like a cheeseball and practicing with this LP I’m putting on some heels, cranking up the Victrola and practicing sound spelling until I’m up to “Steno-Speed”.
